Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR)
The Extended Producer Responsibility is a specific, mandatory subset of product stewardship, required by law, that shifts the burden of recycling and waste management to producers. Companies need to manage the end of life cycle of their products as EPR forces the producers (brand owners, manufacturers, or first importers) to take full physical and financial responsibility for the post-consumer management of their products and packaging.
